The people have spoken and they have asked for The Panics!

Headliners The Panics
Touring in September, the much-hyped indie darlings will be supported by newcomers Matheson and The Bloodpoets in the third incarnation so far this year of The JD Set, an initiative of Jack Daniel’s.
The JD Set’s events have rapidly come to represent guaranteed must-see national tours. The groundbreaking competition gives fresh up-and-coming talent the chance to support their heroes on tour, playing free shows in iconic venues. Previous headliners included You Am I and Faker.
The Bloodpoets have released a (slightly and understandably starstruck) statement in response to their selection: “To support The Panics, a band we’ve looked up to for so long, is going to be a big learning curve for us”. The Panics’ lead singer Jae Laffer responded in line with the theme of mentorship, saying “We’re particularly proud to be taking on board some of the country’s new talent and putting them up there on the big stage with us”.
The upcoming tour certainly represents the beginning of something big in the form of the two supporting acts, with Matheson’s debut album These Are My Horses to be released later this month; and The Bloodpoets’ as yet untitled first record due in October. These are two young bands to watch, both at the Espy gig and in the future!
