You’d be forgiven for thinking that rising Aussie hip-hop artist Pez would be just about ready to put his feet up and relax following a massive debut year. Pez has taken the local music scene by storm in 2009, with a #1 independent single, a #7 placing in 2009’s Triple J Hottest 100 countdown, the most downloaded track ever on Triple J’s website (The Festival Song),
an album that has spent more than 30 weeks in the ARIA charts, and two hugely popular national tours in just six months. But is he ready for a breather?
Short answer: No. Riding on the back of a successful re-release of his debut album A Mind Of My Own (Soulmate/Inertia), Pez recently finished an incredible national tour with Aussie hip-hop standard-bearers Bliss N Eso. This tour saw the breakout star perform in front of over 20,000 punters across the country. Pez will be hitting the road this August & September for his first headlining national outing – the Mind of My Own National Tour.
Pez will be supported by buzzworthy Melbourne talent Seth Sentry, who is currently burning up Triple J with his runaway folk-hop smash The Waitress Song. Also joining Pez on-stage will be rhyme partner 360, album producer and longtime DJ Matik and the soulful sounds of Hailey Cramer. Bringing his trademark high energy shows to 30 dates across the country, Pez will be showcasing the sounds that have made him one of 2009’s brightest and most lauded new talents. This will be one of the last chances for fans across all states to see Pez perform before he goes to work with some huge names for his brand new album due in 2010.
